Saturday 21 August – Rest Day

REST DAY

When I typed the title of this post, I lazy-fingered it and put ‘Rest Dat’ instead of rest day, but I think ‘rest dat’ is just as applicable. From the feedback I’ve been hearing here and there, this was a hard week and I can agree with that. Starting off with Angie, everyone’s arms were wrecked with a few having some leg soreness. To drive the nail past the surface, Tuesday’s swings, pullups, and rowing put a definitive ‘hurting’ on the arms and finished off what Angie left behind on the legs and core. By Wednesday, the arms were probably tolerable, only to have everyone’s legs swept out from under them. Thursday’s outdoor hellfire only reincarnated whatever pain had subsided from Wednesday’s heat-infused nightmare, and after a seemingly endless session of jumping, that was the feather that made the tower fall. Most people were saying their ass was sore sore sore, so go ahead and rest dat ass! If you did every wod this week, pat yourself on the back and make yourself a water smoothie!

Yesterday sure did have a lot of jumping… and then Kris Kross’s “Jump” comes on the radio. Perfect. All that’s missing is Van Halen!

    great pics! CrossFit IS #1!!! Started “the zone” this morning. I haven’t had such a large breakfast in a LONG time. This will take some getting used to!

    Off to the gym to take this week’s frustrations out on some weights. For some reason, I’m thinking I will be focusing on upper body… dunno if the quads are up for anything else!

      You don’t have to have a large breakfast… if you think it’s too many blocks for you, take one off the breakfast and add it to another meal. The zone is only a system of eating and is very malleable :)

        gotcha… was going to do a block 4 egg sandwich and an apple, but for the first time in forever… no eggs in the house. Ate a canteloupe, one cup of cottage cheese and 12 almonds. Lunch was more manageable with four ounces of tuna, one slice of bread and an apple.

        Went to the Y and worked on my shoulder press, push press and push jerk (split). PRd my push jerk at 95lbs (3 sets of 3). Also, worked on my snatch, then 3×10 bench press.
